- If the photographer is located near where you want to have the pictures taken, less travel is involved, reducing your costs. Also, if the location could be considered hazardous, such as in rock climbing, extra time is needed in preparation so the safety of everyone involved is paramount.
- Complexity
- Typically, the greater the complexity, the more time or equipment is needed to provide professional results. For example a photo shoot involveing several people takes more time to coordinate everyone as compared to a photo shoot with only 1 or 2 people.
- Number of final pictures wanted
- The more varieties of pictures you want, the more poses or activities the photographer will need to take. This requires more work not only during the shooting process, but also during the processing stages.
- Duration of event
- The longer the event, the more time the photographer will be working. If the event takes place over multiple days, discounts could be available due to the photographer already being on site.
